President Donald Trump’s threat to boost import taxes by 50% over Brazilian goods could drive up the cost of breakfast in the United States. Coffee and orange juice are among the products likely to be affected if no agreement between the two countries is reached by Aug. 1. Beef and regional airliners are also among the products that could be affected. Trump announced Wednesday that Brazil would face the increased import tax due to the country’s treatment of former president Jair Bolsonaro, who stands trial before the country’s Supreme Court for his alleged role in trying to overturn his 2022 election loss.
