half-life 2: rtx is a literal performance joke that makes fakefactory cinematic mod alone seem more tolerable despite its age and questionable content additions.

as if being stared down by an exorcist with no soul wasn't disturbing enough.

EDIT: for reference, I'm running this on a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 Windforce OC GPU and a Ryzen 7 9700X CPU.

@winload_exe The performance is so bad you need upscaling to make it playable. That makes it look worse than the original imo. Blurry with AI artifacts 🤮

@kharos i got 16 FPS at an empty corridor in nova prospekt with DLSS and framegen turned off (which is the real ingame perf), if that wasn't enough insult to injury. also, individually modeled fence chainlinks.

had i run the standard game, i'd easily get upwards of 1k+ FPS.
