Systemd has been a complete, utter, unmitigated success

The year is 2013 and I am hopping mad.

systemd is replacing my plaintext logs with a binary format and pumping steroids into init and it is laughing at me. The unix philosophy cries out: is this the end of Linux (or, as many are calling it, GNU plus Linux)?

The year is 2025 and I’m here to repent. Not only is systemd a wort

Systemd has been a complete, utter, unmitigated success – OSnews

@osnews well, Thom, I certainly didn't get over it haha. Almost all of my servers are debian or debian based, so all systemd types ... but openrc on the laptop for my sanity. :)
@osnews I still dislike the binary logs. Can't there be a file based interface? Maybe I write a fuse wrapper so you can grep on /var/log/fusesyslog/syslog* and it would do the needed stuff with journald.
Or does this exist somewhere?
It should be standard on all distris.
