I don't know if it has been done, but I do know that even if it hasn't happened yet it is no excuse to not try with all our might to save ourselves. Defeatism is part of how they managed to win this last time in fact. Don't just be someone who doesn't fall into that trap, be someone who doesn't help them set it.
#republicanism was born even more recently than #democracy
