i absolutely LOVE mexico's president! she is an incredible example of how to make the world a better place by living the change she wants to make

#mexico #president

@grrlscientist I would not be surprised if the rescue team were stopped at the border and sent back because they were working in the US illegally.

@grrlscientist

I like her as much as I despise #TACO

@grrlscientist She's done well so far. It's a reminder that talent isn't confined to one gender.
@Sibshops
Maybe it's a reminder that talent IS confined to one gender.
@grrlscientist
@grrlscientist very nice, but this kindness is not gender specific. There are horrible females, males and trans. nothing is binary, we live in a very complicated world.
@grrlscientist #Alt4You Picture of the current President of Mexico above text: “Mexico's president just sent rescue teams to Texas. After all the hate. After all the anti-immigrant policies. After all the racism toward brown people. She still helped. She still showed up. She still did the right thing. To a red state that wouldn't do the same for her. That's leadership. That's power. That's a woman.”
@grrlscientist I agree with you! She is a hope in a cruel world 🥰
Mexico's president's strategy is actually genius: stepping up to do what the US government is not doing, so that the PR of Mexican immigrants to the US actually increases, and the US population galvanizes against mass deporting. That, and empathy, of course.
@grrlscientist Reminder that the Mexican Army were one of the first responders to have boots on the ground (in the mud) after Katrina. Cuba had planes full of doctors and nurses sitting on the runway but Bush refused to grant them visas.
@Fat_Farang @grrlscientist And Canada had a hospital ship sitting offshore at New Orleans and was also denied access.
@grrlscientist The ICE-Gestapo will probably deport them to the wrong country.
