My first @trmnl plugin is available!

It allows you to show your latest @PixelFed publications on you #TRMNL device.

Most of the work was already done by @stephenyeargin in his Pixelfed timeline plugin: https://usetrmnl.com/recipes/103958

@nhoizey intriguing device. What are plugins made of? What's your primary use for such a device?

@Julianoe I’m using it to cycle through our family agenda for today or the week, the meteo, my latest photos from Pixelfed and my own site, etc.

Plugins are made of HTML, Liquid, YAML, etc.: https://github.com/nhoizey/trmnl-pixelfed-profile/

@Julianoe you can also use any other technology that is able to generate the full image, I think.
@nhoizey Oh! Interesting! Makes me want to see if I could use my old jailbroken Kindle the same way, by pointing it to a web page with my personal dashboards (pixelfed, rss, etc.)

Clarity, at a glance.

@nhoizey

Yes I quickly found that! Really cool!

Still need to dig a bit to figure out what advantages I would have using trmnl firmware and building adhoc server, compared to just pointing my kindle to any custom webpage of mine.

@villapirorum you could indeed do something similar without TRMNL. But TRMNL comes with many plugins to display different kinds of data.
@nhoizey Indeed ! I might take a look at it at some point, but right now I think I will not resist diging the rabbit hole and implementing my own dashboard, probably learning new APIs on the way !😅🤦‍♂️
