What so many people in the world don’t understand is that artists aren’t simply “chasing dreams.” More — so much more — than that, they are being themselves, investing, discovering, learning, creating, changing, growing, breaking, reinventing, building, sharing, teaching, and inspiring.

Never disparage artists. Without them, troubled hearts, anxious souls, and knotted minds would know little refuge, and nominal growth.

His works are moving. I feel as if I’ve lived in that bedroom many times, when pursuing a life in the arts. It’s poetic, charmed, and sometimes a bit lonely and frightening. However peculiar and sometimes disturbing, it’s a beautiful place because there’s a simplicity, a humility, a warmth, and a sincerity to it. I’ve enjoyed the privilege of seeing several of his works, and they’re moving. You just want to reach out and touch them. One can feel the texture without even touching.
