Christian Schwartz’s Amplitude comes home to his own foundry @commercial after the sunsetting of Font Bureau. And finally updated with italics! https://vault.commercialtype.com/vault/amplitude

One of my favorite typefaces, often recommended to folks who want a versatile fam with deep ink traps, and the identity type for @FontID.

This news comes from @db whose https://type-atlas.xyz/ (along with https://typecache.com) is really the only way to keep up with new releases.

@typographica @db To be fair, @typecache has been solid for new releases for many many years, it still is.
@klim @typographica @typecache Indeed, the stamina to keep at it for more than a decade is inspiring and hugely impressive.

@typographica @commercial As I understand it, @btuttle did a lot of heavy lifting to finish the new Amplitude fonts for this re-release.

Now I’m waiting for an excuse to use Amplitude again.

@nicksherman @typographica Yes, this re-release wouldn't have happened without @btuttle, who extended the glyphsets and drew italics for everything but the normal width (which I had done around 2003 or so, and had never released for reasons I don't remember...)
