New ref sheet! ✨
Thought it was time to refresh Grout, er... Kanjon's ref with something that more reflects my art today.

There's a simple ref, and an extended sheet with full markings, colors, clothing, lore, tails, and even drawing ideas.

🖼️ Higher quality images in thread!

What's new? I've renamed him to Kanjon with a nickname of Grout (former name), since that's how most people know him. I even usually call him Kanjon.

I've also added a marking onto the back, and tossed out the optional face markings. Otherwise, same critter, same colors.

Character Reference Sheets

Look! It's a fox? Simple and Special Edition Extended Cut reference sheets of Kanjon's characters. Drawing ideas included!

Fun facts:
- This entire ref is a vector! Hundreds of layers. (But I can't post that because Affinity Designer corrupts the strokes on export. Whoops.)
- The front and back views are all straight lines!
- The Paper Mario look is genuinely a coincidence! But I'll take it. :D
I spent way too long on this part and eventually just quickly re-drew his face with the thought of "just make him look goofy"
I'm also excited about having drawing ideas on the sheet itself. I'm not sure I've seen others with this, but am definitely going to start suggesting it to folks. Realized I kept writing out the same sort of things for "artistic freedom" commissions and such. Steal this idea for your ref!

@MtKanjon Overall this looks awesome, very well done! Clear, cute, detailed when needed, with a fun, friendly flair about everything.

This feels like a natural representation of the creature I met in VR
