Most people have no concept of what a billion is.

So, if we use seconds...

1 thousand seconds is 16 minutes
1 million seconds is 11 and a half days
1 billion seconds is...31 years

You really got my deepest compassion.
This is because of the metric system.
It's always hard to compute the imperial units to ROTW units.
ROTW knows that a Billion is a Billion.
We don't need to trans-compute to seconds. At least your example (which was new to me) shows some linearity.
