@colorblindcowboy I don't think we've bunny-talked before! ๐ My Marigold (4 years old) is a mix with Checkered Giant ancestry judging from the fact that one of her siblings had the typical black-and-white Checkered Giant look, she's also very large and currently weighs ~5 kilograms. I've always heard that larger breeds tend to be more relaxed and friendly characters.
My girl is a rescue coming from a very bad living situation, but she almost immediately warmed up to me and sat nearby, would groom me and let me pet her. Not sure if it's due to the breed or due to her being so happy to have been rescued. ๐ฅบ She does not like to be held or picked up though, if I pick her up (to go to the vet, for example) she'll try to wiggle free. But she will let me cuddle up to her while lying on the floor and pet her and she sometimes even falls asleep like this. ๐ฅฐ So I'd say she's a very affectionate bunny.
@jtheseamstress Itโs very nice to hear about your Marigold. Sheโs gorgeous. ๐
She outweighs our Valmont Jones by a half pound. We believe he is mostly Beverend. He was rescued in a park by friends. He is now 6 years old.
Heโs simultaneously rambunctious, with a lot of big rabbit energy, and also very sweet. He likes human contact in any form, including being picked up. He also likes to lie down (half) on my stomach if Iโm on the sofa or in bed. He will fall asleep that way and even dream.
@colorblindcowboy Aww that's really sweet! Glad he was rescued and now lives in a loving home. ๐
Marigold can be quite sassy too, she definitely knows what she wants and I also think she's rather smart. So that might be her kind of "big rabbit energy" I guess!
@jtheseamstress Oh, Valmont is not that bright. Sighโฆ Sometimes a blessing tho, since those smart ones figure stuff out they shouldnโt.
He was rescued with a female rabbit who turned out to be pregnant with, yep, his kids.
