Can we have more of these all across Europe? Would be a nice way to make stronger connections within the #EU @EUCommission
@chantal @EUCommission Lublin is such a nice City. Love it. Been there several times.

@momo @chantal @EUCommission

Imagine them all over the world. And connections changed randomly or people could switch. And with sound, and with automatic translation.

This might be a powerful tool to unite the world.

@distincteclare @chantal @EUCommission Actually I do not like those portals. But I love Lublin. Been there 4 times from 2010 to 2023

@chantal @EUCommission

Sorry if this sounds impolite, but please no.

This is taxpayer money spent on a project, that is, at best, a fun novelty for the first time you see it. Most people living there see it once, look at it, often without even realizing where the other end lies, and ignore it for the rest of their lives. Source: that is my exact experience with the Vilnius portal, as someone who often commutes to Vilnius by train.

The money that was spent on this would have been far better spent making the area around the Vilnius portal, or the nearby Vilnius train station, nicer.

As an alternative, I would suggest improving the EU identity through social media, education and interconnectivity through improved infrastructure, things that, as far as I'm aware, are already being slowly implemented through other projects.

@kelp @chantal @EUCommission I donโ€™t think it is that much of an investment (if done right).
@chantal @EUCommission I love the idea! Maybe this could be done somehow in a more simple, community-driven, croudfunded way?
@chantal @EUCommission Maybe we could develop a simpe kit and put it on GitHub or something. Those portals would not have to be permanent installations, they could be put on a cargo bike or something and then could be put somewhere in the a pedestrian zone in the city center, coordinated with another city in Europe.
@chantal @EUCommission @tonivade it would be so cool if this became common around the world. Linking towns and cities.
