The reduction of my environmental footprint has probably done more for other people than this Tadhg Hickey ever will. I've avoided health issues that have touched everyone in my family. I've also reduced the cruelty experienced by livestock animals that are as intelligent as dogs and cats.

Juliamon@Methylcobalamin In the event that you still don't understand: the post is satire on the fact that the UK has declared a peaceful protest movement as terrorism and its members terrorists. It isn't painting vegans in a bad light, but rather mocking the UK government for doing so.

Erin@Methylcobalamin @IndyRichard I think it’s a tongue-in-cheek observation about protesters being labeled terrorists in recent times. They’re not insulting vegans.
(I’m also vegan; you haven’t reduced the cruelty experienced, you’ve just not participated. Which is great and more people should refuse to participate! But they’re still experiencing it, unless you’re also an activist sabotaging farms? Weird thing to toot your own horn about.)
@quietewe @Methylcobalamin Yes that was my take exactly. Tadhg's post was about the outrageous decision to label a peaceful pro Palestine group as terrorist which in turn has made many peacefully protestors worthy of arrest with potential for 14 years in prison. Yesterday an 83 year old priest was arrested. It wasn't per se an attack on vegetarians.
Reiner Jung@Methylcobalamin @IndyRichard sadly, you missed the point of the post, but others already told you that. Thus, I have just a short suggestion. Read their post and answer with something in the direction: "Oh sorry, I totally missed the point. Thanks for clarifying things for me."
Also it might help to replace the word vegan by leftie, wokista, social justice worrier or any other term right-wingers use to discredit other people.
