I picked this generator up cheap along with two others like it.
It starts and runs but never comes off slow idle.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what it might be?

@AMS Yeah, I'm not actually sure what it is that controls the running speed, but whatever it is, isn't working.
As soon as a draw hits it, it should (I think) trigger something that speeds up the engine.
I can reach in with a screwdriver and push the throttle to do it, but it should do it automatically, or even with an actual control. Normally I'd expect the choke/run lever to do it but it but it only turns the choke flap.
Okay, I have two of these and both are running now.
When I plug the circular saw into the one, the generator speeds up and the saw runs.
When I plug it into the other, it stays at idle and the saw tries to turn the blade but can't.
That's as far as I've gotten so far today lol
I'm going to pull the tanks off both and compare wires and connections in a bit.
It's neither of these two things, whatever they are lol. I swapped them from the nonworking to working one and it still works fine. All mechanical linkages work fine on both as well.
I thought I was onto something... I may be but I don't have confirmation yet.
Another thing I have no clue what it is has like 6 wires, two to the switch, three that connect to wires to running into the generator housing, and one that connects to the spark plug controller?
When I swapped the one off the non-working one to the working one, it no longer worked. It acts just like the first one did. Unfortunately, the one from the working one didn't make the first one work. I have to pull it
1/
all apart again and see if I screwed something up, didn't properly connect something etc and see if I can get the non working one working. If I can, it means whatever that box is, is the problem.
If I can't, I switch them back, make sure I still have one working one and think about it some more lol
2/2
Well... Shit.
It's not that part either.
The 1st one I said ran but didn't put out power is yellow.
The 2nd one that needed a fuel line, but runs and put out power is red.
The red one works properly with the three 'whatevers' lol off the yellow one, so it's none of them.
The yellow one does put out power, but barely enough to turn my drill free spinning, however it tells me it's not the circuit breaker or receptacle.
Oh, I have something else to try, be back soon lol
Okay, pushing the throttle on the yellow one does speed the engine running up, but it changed nothing about the power output.
I think that leaves me at that it must be the generator head itself???
