@ari not sure if being rhetorical

because the answer makes me do a conceited face just the same

@ari @mms

A good point. I'm going to put DOGE on it. I wager there's BILLIONS of dollars in waste, fraud, and abuse we can cut. ;)

@ari taxes.
@dhfir i mean i guess the pyramids were probably government funded, in a sense
@ari no like.
Working on the pyramids was one of the ways you paid your taxes back then.
Like, iirc for the poor farmers that can't just hand off a portion of their crops without issue, when it's not time for planting or harvest or sth.
you go work on the pyramids.
and that's how you pay your taxes.
This kinda stuff was apparently pretty common in ancient societies, as I've heard of mesopotamians paying THEIR taxes through canal maintenance.
@dhfir huh. so like a social service in lieu of monetary taxes
@ari True and funny but also oof.
@ari this is proof that aliens must've helped out
@privateger they made sure to block out tasks into manageable user stories, and assigned workers to sprints (they physically sprint the bricks to the pyramid)
@ari this is like that recent neilzone post but in meme form
