@pablomgarrido I forward the question to @susankayequinn

@ng ¡Gracias!

@pablomgarrido ¡Hola!

I'm a solarpunk author and I agree many solarpunk stories don't look at sustainability for the entire world—often because they are *short* stories (there are not many novels).

1) there aren't that many solarpunk stories *at all* which is why I've started a podcast and a list, to gather them: https://brightgreenfutures.substack.com/

2) my short solarpunk story (does not address the whole world but it's in Spanish):

One novel that attempts a world-wide solution: Kim Stanley Robinson's Ministry for the Future https://www.planetadelibros.com/libro-el-ministerio-del-futuro/325044

My novel series, Nothing is Promised, also looks at world-wide struggle/solutions (across 4 books), but it's only in English and German: https://susankayequinn.com/series/nothing-is-promised

@susankayequinn @ng Sue, thank you, you helped a lot. I'm sharing your answers in Summerlab's today session for everyone. It's cool that your story is translated to Spanish. If you say that there's not much written about Solarpunk, imagine publishing them in Spain, where we are 10 years in the past about this kind of trends 😂😂

@pablomgarrido @ng

I can imagine how frustrating that must be! My friend & fellow solarpunk author @renanbernardo.com has written how not having works available in Portuguese shaped him as a writer. He has works in several languages now… maybe some in Spanish?

Also: that same bilingual magazine published two other Imagine 2200 stories in translation (in separate issues)—I will track down those links.

Oh! *Otra Vida* by @sarenaulibarri is in Spanish too!

@susankayequinn @ng @sarenaulibarri yes!!! I've read "Otra Vida"!!!!

@pablomgarrido @ng @sarenaulibarri
Excellent!

I found one of the other Imagine 2200 stories (Jamie Liu's) in translation and now I can't remember if there actually was a third. Maybe @sarenaulibarri knows?

@pablomgarrido @ng Oh, and I double checked but Renan does *not* have stories in Spanish, sorry.

"His work has been published in English, Portuguese, German, Japanese, and Italian." https://www.renanbernardo.com/about

@susankayequinn @ng sorry for not answer yesterday but thank you! You also made me discover new stories and I can't wait to sit and read!

I didn't know Renan Bernardo but it turns out there's a book in my book shop with one of his stories: Solarpunk: short stories from many futures (Francesco Verso ed.)...

El mundo es un pañuelo as we say in Spain 😂😂

@pablomgarrido @ng
A small world, indeed! Especially in solarpunk. Glad to make your acquaintence!
