I am aware that this is a pretty silly thing, but I feel kinda misled by my bosses.
I have worked at the current company for a few years, and my experience in the field (with just CV-worth stuff) is nearing 10 years in a month. For the last 2 years I got told that I am "so close" to being considered a "senior" at my team and department because I try to help educate others through pair programming, talks, etc.

This year, I finally got the title in writing. The salary adjustment because of that was merged with yearly salary adjustments. And while the adjustment I got here looks good, I am unsure if it actually reflects the new position (and requirements toward me).
Doubt came from the facts that 1. it's similar to last year's 2. a new hire (funny enough - hired as a senior, with uncannily similar education and work experience) earned quite a lot more BEFORE the yearly adjustments. I'll probably talk with him now to, if he's OK with it, get to know what's his new salary, and then I'll probably touch on a subject with my manager. Currently, I feel like my work at the "manage 70% of company's legacy systems" team is being a bit unappreciated.

I think I just had to put it in writing to "get it out of my head/system" after I still masticate those thoughts in my head a few hours, and a bouldering training, after I left the job for the day.

And funnily enough - since I'm a second union steward of #Tekna at our company, we had a salary talks discussion with central advisors today. It was the 1'st/2'nd time we had talks with HR&co about the yearly adjustments of our members' salaries, and let's just say that we still have some way to go to reach some kind of effective colaboration.
