Voting for Kamala Harris would literally have changed nothing, to be honest. Everything would have still sucked, and liberals would just have ignored it like they did for the past four years.

Kids would have still burned alive around the world, trans care would still have been banned nationwide by the GOP anyways, ICE funding would have creeped up gradually like it always does.

Trump accelerated the trends that already were there. He did not create any of the problems that are usually attributed to him by the democratic party. The far right cancer is deeper than Trump, it will exist without Trump, and you cannot ignore its spread during non GOP presidencies.

The people who think that Democrats will fix everything, and see re-electing the Democratic party as their primary goal in the fight against Trump are gravely mistaken.
There are no good billionaires.
There are no good ICE agents.
There is no such thing as a welfare cut without casualties.
There is no such thing as a progressive Israel.
None of what I'm saying is a straw man, btw. If you've gone to Hands Off or No Kings, you would know what I'm talking about.

If you actually want to stop the agenda that Trump acts as a figurehead for, then actually take direct action. Don't just wave signs and vote.

Actually do stuff to stop ICE, do stuff to help trans people circumvent bans on their medical care, do stuff to stop an imperialist war on Iran. Be disruptive in your protests. And politically organize yourself outside of the 2 corporate-approved parties.

If you are someone who is offended by my characterization, please articulate your reason why. Tell me why my viewpoint on this issue is false.

@burnoutqueen

Regarding the last point, I remember having to argue with you about it... I think that this idea was propagandized very effectively for a very long time and now what the radical left has always known is becoming common knowledge.

@lulu i used to be far less radical than I am now. I have grown as a person
@burnoutqueen Which is wonderful. I really appreciate you and the hard work you do in thinking things through.

@lulu

Just seeing the genocide in Gaza has completely changed how I see international law and politics as we know it.

@burnoutqueen From my perspective, I was worried that it might reach such a thing about 20 years ago and so were some of my close friends. This was the reason I decided to emigrate. It's such a terrible experience to have your worst nightmare come true.
