"BBC won't re-show Bob Vylan's Glastonbury performance after 'deeply offensive comments'"

Offensive to whom? The IDF? Well, those fuckers are literally killing people seeking aid as "everything is Hamas'".

So, fuck them.

"The Haaretz investigation, published on Friday, June 27, 2025, details a practice where soldiers would use live fire, including from tanks and grenade launchers, to deter crowds from gathering at aid sites before and after official distribution times. One soldier described the areas as "killing fields," stating that "between one and five people were killed every day" at his location. The soldiers who spoke to Haaretz reportedly indicated that these actions were intended to control the crowds."

What I find odd is that previous aid distribution agencies could.generally manage to distribute aid without heavy artillery and small arms fire.

Weird that.

But Bob Vylan is offensive.

@Opfoss

Bear in mind, the British government provided surface to air missiles to shoot down humanitarian aid flights to Biafra in 1968.

The red cross was hiring Vietnam War veteran pilots to break the blockade.

@Uair @Uair Oh, there is nothing new under the sun. I mean, all this upset about terrorism, where should we begin.

Not the Stern gang, though. Not now the Stern gang. Lehi never existed. Definitely never killed a Lord. Never attacked British troops. Deir Yassin, never heard of her.

@Opfoss

Thank you. I did not know this one.

@Opfoss Won’t somebody please think about the mass murderers…
@Opfoss
His comments were vile. Only 23% of the Israeli electorate voted for Netanyahu's Party. He is only in office with the support of some minority vile far-right Parties. He will be voted out as soon as peace prevails and an election can be held. The majority of Israeli citizens are good people. Get a grip and stop blaming those people for the actions of a madman supported by other mad people. You are in danger of being worse than the worst of them.

@kennethb I will take no critique from the illiterate, as you are arguing with the rattles in your head. Nothing in what you have replied to references the wider Israeli people, therefore your statement about blaming them is ludicrously predicated.

It seems an an attempt to over-generalise who my stated target was, ergo your response is a non-sequitur.

Any judgements or appraisals of me and my intent are, therefore, irrelevant.

Good day.

@Opfoss @kennethb There is mandatory conscription in Israel. So, generalizing to IDF is same as generalizing to all Israelis.

@Schafstelze @kennethb

No it isn't.
That's how pacifist movements start.

You want Gazans to be their own journalists, and then have every text/video/evidence they send have the caveat, "of course we cannot confirm the veracity of this footage" when it IS picked up by the 'FREE' media, therefore having discoursally pre-diminished its veracity as a solution?

How sweet.

Oh look, a sizeable edit in real time removing your garbage about your ludicrous position on Gazan media.

Of course, maybe I am now just lying, and it never happened at all, thus "we can neither confirm nor deny".

Bye.

@Opfoss

It will be an interesting court case, esp if the defense cite people such as the UN et al who have said what is going on is illegal and possibly a war crime.

Starvation as a weapon of war - Illegal
Killing civilians - Illegal
and the fact that new born babies are NO WAY hamas operatives
etc etc

@zleap The defence from Netanyahu is already in, and it is in the same line as always: “malicious falsehoods designed to defame”, the “GHF (Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, established February, 2025, and the replacement for the U.N.) is not aware of any of these incidents but these allegations are too grave to ignore and we therefore call on Israel to investigate them and transparently publish the results in a timely manner,” and 'Netanyahu denies report that Israeli troops have orders to shoot Palestinians seeking aid', but somehow that keeps happening.

It's a "de jure" versus "de facto" question, where Israel states everything we do is legal, and provides 'evidence' to support its case, but the de facto is body, on top of body, on top of body, on top of body, and denial, after denial, after denial.

But if the wider international community doesn't stand up to the issue, nothing will happen. Currently, that sits on its hands.

@Opfoss

As I said, it will be an interesting court case, people queing up for aid were not shot at like this before, There are enough witness statements even now to present.

It will be an interesting court case.
