I start the day trying to be a good person, but then someone pulls out in front of me, doing 10 mph below the speed limit. So I'll try again tomorrow.
@kibcol1049 omg same — three times in the few miles to get groceries. Three. Times. Zero on the way back, so I killed no one.

@cascheranno @kibcol1049 In my fairly recent youth, I rode motorbikes for around 20 years. In those days, a Volvo was your enemy as they drove like idiots, didn't look, stop, wait etc.

These days, Volvo are fine, but German car drivers seem to have taken over the idiocy. A friend of ours always shouts "Don't block the road when you crash!" As they fly past in all the wrong places!

Same ~20 years & not riding in traffic on 2 wheels anymore.
@stevewfolds @NormanDunbar @cascheranno 30 years of scraping bodies up after traffic collisions have led me to the conclusion you always come off worse on 2 wheels! ☹️😱
@kibcol1049 @NormanDunbar @cascheranno I managed to walk away with broken bones from falls on different motorcycles & quit in 1986.

@stevewfolds
I was lucky or skilled. Maybe both. I never had an accident on my bikes.

I started with a TL125 in 1977, a 250 Super Dream, CX500, a CBR600 which got nicked along with the lock and alarm, and a VFR750, which I traded in for a wife in 1997!

@NormanDunbar @stevewfolds @cascheranno You were careful that helps, but if cars collide, they have safety features and are designed to absorb impacts. Sadly not so with bikes. ☹️
@kibcol1049 @NormanDunbar @cascheranno
I loved going fast on/in everything and learned how fragile we are when decelerating quickly.
Much gratitude to the engineer at Volvo who invented 3-point seatbelts and the company for not patenting it.

@stevewfolds
Very true, can you imagine a big company doing something like that these days?
