this is how to do it. not sure the democratic party insiders will learn this vital lesson but voters can.

Zohran Mamdani's People-Powered Win Is a Rebuke to Democrat Cowardice

Providing an alternative to establishment politics and an increasingly right-leaning party made all the difference for Mamdani, argues politics editor Lex McMenamin.

@paul_ipv6 Mamdani also worked really really fucking hard for this. No other candidate reached out as often, and did so without making it look like every email was a request for donations. That's a big deal. Did his campaign email me three times a day? Yes. but it wasn't as gross as a lot of Dem fundraising emails.
This guy was out there every day trying to get his message out.

when i say that this is how to do it, a good part of it is honest outreach, addressing voter concerns, not spouting tired, empty DNC slogans. yes, and hard work. "things are really bad. give us $5/month" isn't a very convincing way to get me to contribute time or money to a political candidate.

longer term lessons also include why ranked voting is crucial for letting voters get non-mainstream candidates, new candidates. suddenly the "only way to win is massive media buy" isn't the only way to win.
