American companies can't comprehend being able to speak multiple languages

(Post brought to you by YouTube and it's fucking annoying auto-translate bullshit)
@volpeon
I'm hopeful it will learn it in the future. A few days ago my   remembered after almost two years how to spell check two languages.
@volpeon yeah, I'd much rather have the original accents & some subtitles
@volpeon honestly its even annoying as a monolingual, i see a cool looking or informative video and then i click it and its auto translated and not only did i not want to see ai translation, but i cant even trust the information in that video
@volpeon It is honestly annoying that they're doing that now. It just doesn't feel the same as a genuine dub.

@volpeon even if you actually think about it, it just doesn't make sense

because there are a lot of English/Spanish speakers in the US so they really SHOULD comprehend

@cato @volpeon what was that about silicon valley tech bros being out of touch with reality (and not (willing) to understand consent/opt-in)?
Also, did you know they also apply that shit to ads, just to make sure?
@volpeon yeah this annoys me so much, especially because the machine-translated titles are often very bizarre. It's so annoying that it can't be turned off.
