Well we are finally back with Newark Tower ATC who handled FOD quite intuitively. A pilot saw a bag on the runway on takeoff but the ATC couldn't get any trucks to immediately respond on radio so he asked the planes lined up for takeoff to look out their windows and they found it!
Also the current ATC is just sooooo nice and has professional good vibes.
"Guess staffing is not any better now, huh"
"...NOPE."
"I got one more trip after this"
"I have no words. It doesn't say good luck but you never know, Newark"
Something might have happened earlier because they keep on reminding planes to ensure their tails are off the runway whenever they land
Okay worked way too much on a not too exciting thing but it's my airport sooo. I asked why the ATCs seemed overly cautious to my eyes in the sky and they said
UA350 diverted back to EWR 23:17z, or 19:17 local time
Landed 23:17z, declared emergency 22:47z
So I went through the ATC archives, four different audios, three different frequencies and put it all together. Here it is.
