#AudioMo day 19: Sorry for my absence, we were on vacation but unfortunately didn't get the chance to really record anything to put here. So now I'm pulling things up from the archives. This here is a ringtone I made in 2020 called Unify, inspired by a patch from Soundspot's Union called "Big Pants Lead," which I'm using as the chord patch here. For how simple it is, just the chords, a bass and some drums, all pretty basic, this thing is ridiculously catchy IMO. My mom still uses this as her phone's ringtone to this day.
You can get this ringtone for yourself, in iPhone or Android format, at https://x0box.xyz/uploads/ringtones
#AudioMo day 20: More ringtones! This one was made in March of 2021 and is called On The Move. It was also inspired by a sound, namely the bass patch, which is a modified version of the Phat Funk patch from the Korg Arp Odyssey plug-in. I was playing with it and came up with this bassline. This one has two versions. The original version of it had no arp stabs and no lead. When I was later advised to add those, I made a lite version, which includes the arp stabs but mutes the lead, which you hear first. Then you hear the regular version. Both of these can be found for iOS and Android at https://x0box.xyz/uploads/ringtones
#AudioMo day 21: Even more ringtones! This one I made in December of 2021, based on a snippet I jotted down in August of 2020. In setting out to bring this to fruition, I accidentally created 615 music. This is a chill acoustic thing called Evolving. As with all the others, it can be found for iOS and Android at https://x0box.xyz/uploads/ringtones
#AudioMo day 22: Last of the ringtone cluster I think. This one is called Plucked From The Noise, and was inspired by, and made entirely with, Soundiron's Antidrum Machine, which is a sample library of unconventional percussion. Banging on metal things, dinging poles, fiddling with guitar strings, ringing cans, people shouting, clapping and stomping, and something called boomwhackers? Much more as well. It's a haven for making percussion with everyday items and otherwise uncommon choices for music. Is very fun. This one is only three tracks. Some kind of plucked thing the library calls boomwhackers which sounds like pitched PVC pipes, named pluckfuck, a pitched ding of the edge of an oil can, named dingthing, and a percussion layer which is overdubbed to hell to capture all the different samples they have spread all over the keyboard, which is named clickitybang. The total is this, which is the only ringtone I've made that does not loop. It can't. As always, it can be found at https://x0box.xyz/uploads/ringtones
#AudioMo day 23: Still pulling from archives here, this time misc things that I threw together years ago, as I haven't done much new musically in some time. This one is rather unimaginatively called 2020-09-12, but I prefer to call it Cheap Korgscore. I was playing around with NKS mappings to the Korg Triton plug-in and created this thing in the process. It tries to sound like some epic intro that you might get while introducing a film or major character, with just two patches. One is a combi which has a bass drum and some low brass and maybe piano that I use to mark my current note and root of the chord, as well as a top of a full string section. The other is some kind of brass thing which does most of the melodic stuff for the majority of the jingle, but turns into a build detail at the end.
@x0 Whoa. If you still have the midi to that, totally cool because somebody could orchestrate that in KK and omfg.
@starchild I still have the reaper project in question, so I could totally do a MIDI export if someone would prefer that to transcribing it. For an actual orchestration someone would probably want to go with transcription.
@x0 I'd just like to hear what it sounds like in KK LOL.
@starchild I have Symphobia 2 but I don't have all the things I'd need for trying to create a realistic orchestra sound that wouldn't be clunky, so if someone wants to take it up I could totally send it to them. Hell, if they have reaper and triton in their KK I could send them the RPP as is, or do MIDI export if they wanted to load it into something else.
@starchild I tried to get Suno to do an orchestration of it but it lost the plot with one of them and didn't sound very good the other time. Should try 4.5 when I can subscribe again.
@x0 OMG totally.
