I’m not getting the metaphor at all here
Im not totally sure either. I think the message is that a lot of countries / groups wanted something to be done about Iran but while they were discussing it Trump just pulled a leroy jenkins on that shit and now they’re mad about it.
Yeah, but replacing it was indeed the right thing. What Trump did is debatable at best and wrong in most interpretations.
I mean, I’m not sure that Iran of all countries should have nuclear weapons. It’s everything else that’s fucked up about this.
Hum… I’d put good odds in they getting some now.
Getting what?
Nukes.
It appears that their nuclear weapons program has just been destroyed, where would they get nukes from anytime soon? I suppose Israel and USA could be lying about hitting anything (but not about Iran having a nuclear weapons program), but that doesn’t seem that likely.
Russia, China, Pakistan, North Korea?
We have yet to see anyone just give their allies nukes, and it doesn’t look like any of these countries give half a shit about Iran in the first place.
Ehat makes ypu think it wouldn’t be an exchange of some sort?
That would also be unprecedented.
Have you been around Russia much?
And yet, somehow they either didn’t do it yet or hid it really, really well.
I wonder how giving nukes to China in 1955 fits into that then.
This will 100% ensure they get nukes as fast as they possibly can, when they weren’ttrying to make them before
You can’t just make nukes because you want to just like that, it takes a huge amount of resources that’s kinda hard to hide from foreign intelligence. Chances are better than even that they were already trying to do that anyway, and it doesn’t seem like it has worked out so well for them.

The idea is that Iran is a theocracy and them having nukes would threaten the Israeli faux theocracy and possibly give Iran the power to stop Israel killing children in Gaza, so the Israeli backed US congress should have been consulted before Trump “did the right thing” by picking the theocracy that’s the most friendly to them… The one that’s killing kids in Gaza…

…of course that one already has nukes… Which they made with stolen US uranium.

So, theocracy bad, unless you pretend democracy is still intact, and US good, for intervening to protect Gaza genocide… But Trump bad for not talking to Congress first, who probably would have automatically approved all this anyway… Because Americans don’t want to think about it.

So poorly crafted Spatula “metaphor” so cartoonist can feel morally good and not have to think about all this.

The best I can come up with is that they are both behaving inappropriately in slightly different ways? The alternatives would seem out of character for this comic.
