WesDym@VeroniqueB99 This specific example seems to me an example of one of several broad problems in many modern, highly developed societies in which a lot of people are generally comfortable. Specifically, childish immaturity in legal adults. It's not only cringe-worthy, but actually dangerous. There is a reason we don't let children vote: They often don't have good judgement. Adults who function forensically like children are dangerous voters.
@VeroniqueB99 As do I. In any democracy, the 'deimos' (people) are ultimately responsible for everything. 'Government' is easy to blame, but in a democracy, 'government' is US. Their failings are ours, and only we can fix them. Same with 'media': They're just running a business; we don't HAVE to pay them, but we do, so we're to blame for that, too: They suck because WE suck.
If we want better government, media, and society, we need to be BETTER PEOPLE.
