I mended my favoutite sandals. Both heel caps were split; it's a weak point in this model, especially with my walking habits. I cut some patches out of an old leather purse and glued/stitched them over the broken spot.
It ain't exactly workmanship, but I think it bought me another summer in these.

The patches on the other shoe (which I did after this one) look better.
I used a regular sewing needle I had to push through parts of the sole (!) at some point. It got bent in the process ...
Also the patches are glued on in addition to the stitching. Double is better!

@juni yeah. We've glued the sole of my favorite pair back on, but now it's coming off again. I bought another similar pair, but I really like it, so maybe I'll ask M to repair it again.
