Got home yesterday to find the new sofas had been delivered. Hurrah! But I quickly realised that one of the sofas wasn't as comfortable as expected. Boo! So after testing the other sofa, I've decided to return the uncomfortable one and get one to match the other sofa, but in a different colour. (The uncomfortable sofa is a denim blue colour, but the new sofa will be flamingo pink!) I'll probably have to wait a few weeks for the new one to turn up though.
It might seem weird to order a sofa without knowing how comfortable it is, but I live a long way from any mainstream furniture stores, so going to try sofas is a whole day experience. I've ordered from this company before though, and the previous sofa lasted a long time, so I was happy to go with them. Plus, they're based in south Wales, and all the staff I've had contact with are lovely.
@sheepnik This is the problem we have, we bought our current sofa after trying it in the shop but we’d both been walking round town for a few hours so of course it was comfortable (it’s not terrible, but not inviting either). Now we don’t live near any furniture stores and we’re nervous about just ordering one.
@aegir @sheepnik same issue here though we did go to a very expensive place near Haverfordwest and the sofas were uncomfortable and way too much money. Eventually bought one from ikea which isn’t great but is long. I realise what I was looking for is the old, battered one I’m lounging on now 🤣
@JeniParsons @sheepnik I miss my Grandma’s old one. It was hideous with tassels and enough gold trim to put a dictator’s uniform to shame but it was so ridiculously comfortable.
@aegir @sheepnik sounds like that’s the one you need😉
@JeniParsons @sheepnik I could always reupholster it in international orange and keep the tassels as an anti-taste statement. 😆
@aegir @sheepnik I think you’re on to something there
