Overheard at the Pub for lunch today:
Old Man: "Well Trump is just gonna drop one of them bunkerbuster bombs on Iran and that'll be that." *
Old Woman: "I hope he doesn't. People are just gonna call him stupid some more." **
* - No, when you drop bombs on fanatics, those that survive just become more fanatical.

On *, perhaps it's worth a moment's thought that when you drop a weapon of mass destruction on the civilian population of a nation not currently engaged in active hostilities with you, that population doesn't have to have any fanatics in it for the survivors to emerge looking for some payback.
Good point. Civilians who survive something like that can seem a lot like fanatics when it comes to looking for payback.
Maybe I've mis-read my American history but pre-Vietnam we seemed a LOT more careful with our rhetoric and threats.
