W Światowym Dniu Uchodźcy 71 organizacji prowadzonych przez osoby migranckie, wspierane przez 115 organizacji i osób z całej UE wydało stanowisko potępiające prowadzoną przez UE "wojnę z migrantami". Europejscy liderzy powinni wdrażać polityki oparte na prawach człowieka, dbać o dobrobyt, bezpieczeństwo i opiekę ze strony społeczności.
Zamiast tego wydają miliardy na zamorskie strzeżone ośrodki, nielegalne i kosztowne procedury deportacyjne i militaryzację granic.
Potrzebujemy długofalowych rozwiązań w odpowiedzi na kryzys klimatyczny i ubóstwo, a nie wydawania miliardów na karanie ludzi, którzy poszukują bezpiecznej przystani.
