@samiamsam @w7voa ICE would have a lot of trouble stopping cars on the way out of the stadium in a state where it is now nearly impossible to get drivers to stop for pedestrians at marked crosswalks. Seriously though, with their lack of uniforms and IDs, I'd classify them as "a homeless person asking for a handout at best and a carjacker at worse". Or as a new incarnation of one of the squeegee guys who were bothering drivers in New York City.

@crazyeddie @samiamsam @w7voa Just in case it wasn't clear, the classification I was referring to was the one I'd make as a driver. If ICE guys want to be treated like law enforcement, they should wear uniforms, badges with IDs, etc., so we can distinguish them from the squeegee guys and others whose only goal is to separate you from whatever cash you have with you.

@bzdev @samiamsam @w7voa I was referring to the fact that there are people being dragged away by masked "officers" and ICE saying they weren't there. Saw an article last night of a 20 year old kid grabbed by "ICE" and his mom can't find him and ICE says they don't have him. He's a citizen.

We have no way of knowing that's ICE.

And in fact, in this case we might be seeing an example of this. I just saw an article about this with ICE again claiming they have nobody in the area.

I've always seen USA politicians bleating about "small government" - yet they suddenly have all these feds from nowwhere.

if they aren't carrying proper badges, what, if anything, prevents ICE and other agencies from simply deputising the Proud Boys, handing them guns and uniforms and letting them pick off whoever they wanted (like in the "Wild West"?)

Or indeed fash just taking matters into their own hands.

Even here in England I can buy hidden flashing blue lights for my car from Amazon no questions asked (as well as the amber ones maintenance crews are allowed to use), and there's already problems here with folk being robbed/attacked by fake cops..
