L.E.N.I found considerable amounts of bat poop on my balcony, which means there must be bats living in the roof, so now I'm sitting on the balcony looking upwards until I see a cute little bat snout.

A friend of mine lives near an inland dunes area ( https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandhausener_D%C3%BCnen ) and there is a population of bats in there, and they're ~double the size of those we usually see in Mannheim. We saw them when we took a walk in the dark.
