Shameem AdhikarathHi @johnmu What percentage of users are actually using the ‘Web’ tab on Google Search? People might be engaging more with AI Overviews or even the ‘Forums’ tab, but the purpose of the ‘Web’ tab is different. Curious if there’s any data on usage.
John Mueller@shameem We don't have public numbers on that, but I like the fact that you can pick the kind of search that you want, and change from search to search. Do you find the forums mode more helpful for your searches?
@johnmu Not really, to be honest. I haven’t found the forums mode particularly helpful in most cases, though it might be useful for very specific Q&A type queries. For most “WH” questions forum- results already show up in the All tab SERPs, so I rarely feel the need to switch to the dedicated Forums tab.
If I were to list the order of tabs I use most, it would probably be: All, then News, Images, Videos, Maps, Shopping, Books, Short Videos, Forums, and finally Web.
