This quote from Demis Hassabis at Google DeepMind about traveling to the stars starting in 2030 is absolutely ridiculous, cult-like in its detachment from reality: "[With AGI] we should be in an era of radical abundance, a kind of golden era ... It should be an era of maximum human flourishing, where we travel to the stars and colonize the galaxy. I think that will begin to happen in 2030."

@jofr Neither of those are going to happen. There's a lot of hype in AI at the moment, trying to maintain FOMO among execs and investors. It's all hype given all the severe reliability and accuracy flaws with current products, flaws that can not and will not easily be fixed.
