More and more time pass, more views my blog has and less and less webmention I get. They are dying? Or what? Do you have any idea about it?

@fundor333 I can't comment on if it is dying or not, but for a newbie like me it does seem overly complex to implement.

Just reading the spec made my head spin a little. So, comparing webmentions to social media comments, a comment service, or just an old fashioned reply post and an email, the technical barrier seems pretty high.

I am not sure I could even implement it since my site is just static HTML.

This could be one reason you are seeing fewer webmentions.

@readbeanicecream
As all the spec, if you implement it is a hell of a task but you can also use existing services for webmention.

I also have a static site with webmention (and some article about it) and it is "easy" to implement (for a coder) but I understand that webmention is a tech thing not a muggle thing

@readbeanicecream This is my collection of post about #indieweb and #webmention implement to a static site with github action (no money needed) if you are interested.

@fundor333 In my experience, I haven't seen much evidence that webmentions have ever been used much. It seems to be a pretty niche protocol.
@axxuy yes but 3-4 time in a month I get them but last 2-3 month (after I post more ) I didn't get any so I made the question. And I don't count webmention from automations
@fundor333 I use the heck out of WebMentions. My whole website is built around them.
