In an ideal world, Hearts of Steel Optimus and Starscream would both be Voyager-sized molds; Optimus would have a “trailer” and a Matrix chamber, and Starscream’s fellow seeker repaints would be forthcoming.

But I’m not complaining, especially since these are both new-mold designs that I never expected to see at retail in the first place.

Optimus is a bit tricky to get into locomotive mode due to how his legs tab together. He also needs visible wheels near the front somehow. The transformation is otherwise downright elegant, although there’s a back panel that probably ought to be a bit thicker.

Starscream likewise has a very elegant transformation, marred only by the fists being visible in biplane mode and unarticulated in robot mode. If Hasbro made a Thundercracker/Skywarp set, I’d buy it immediately, although I’d rather see the Insecticon train from the comics first.

All in all, 9/10 for Hasbro on this one. Well worth getting.
