"In February of 1917, protests began across Russia due to low wages, food shortages, and government overreach. In an attempt to hold onto power, Tsar Nikolai II sent in the military to quell the protests. However, many within the military chose to join the protestors and forced the abdication of the Tsar, thus ending the Romanov dynasty.
