Hey folks, been absent for a while. It's good tho, I'm living life and have a lot of high-quality things going on.

But want to offer that if you build one of these handheld projectors this summer I will assist you (it is my tutorial after all).

The hardest parts are getting the correct type of flashlight, sourcing the lens and cutting a stencil.

Lasercut stencils are best, and if you build one of these I'll mail you a few (within reason).

How To Make a Handheld Light Graffiti Projector

Vimeo

Ok, did something. In honor of the No Kings protests today.

If you send people to lightgraffiti.club they will find the tutorial for my DIY light graffiti projector out of hardware store parts.

That is all.

@LaserMistress the PCB houses like pcbway and jlcpcb will cut thin sheets of aluminum, means as PCB stencils, for quite reasonable rates. I wonder if those could be affordable as projector stencils.

@cscott I already know about that process. You didn't need to explain it to me.

The metal would get far too hot with the lumens needed in the flashlight. It works well with acrylic.

@LaserMistress
Thank you for this! Used to be a theater lighting designer and before I got to the detailed tutorial, I sent your vimeo link to a friend with the message "remember cutting gobos?" Looking forward to trying this, if nothing else to project on my street-facing garage door.
@LaserMistress Please help: I can't watch the video, Vimeo asks me to register first. Tried several browsers. What am I doing wrong?
