I'm referring to a French short-film from the 50s about a boy who makes friends with a red balloon on the streets of Paris.

I don't know if the artist of this one used that as the inspiration, or if one red balloon was all they could afford after shipping in the tanks. 😄 But it reminded me of the short and it resonated. It's a story about overcoming cruelty.
