Kinda cool to see the programme for the UN's open source week... https://www.un.org/digital-emerging-technologies/content/open-source-week-2025 but, of course, it's already almost entirely co-opted by corporate interests. They shit on everything in their efforts to control and frame all the narratives. We need digital public infrastructure that's controlled by democratic institutions. We need to put corporations back in the box. They must exist to serve society, not the other way around.

And it shows how 'open source' is 'corporate-friendly' rather than protecting the interests of the people. We need *copyleft* everywhere. If it can be made proprietary, it's is to society's detriment, not benefit. https://davelane.nz/proprietary

We need to remember that corporations are - structurally, based on all their incentives - the enemy of the rest of us: society, in general. They need to be sapped of their power.
