I'm going to see a movie in the middle of the day bc there is only one single showing of Sinners with captioning every week lol
I'm SO mad I tapped my SEPTA card to go thru a turnstile but the turnstile didn't turn so I tapped again and it said no passbacks I'M NOT PASSING BACK
I had to use my credit card I hate it here I got double charged smhhh
and the gates don't have tap OUT so I couldn't even tap OUT to get rid of the whatever it thinks I'm doing this SUCKS
idk why I thought I could time going to a movie without accounting for Transit Troubles. last time I did that the train was delayed and I missed the very first few seconds of... what was it, the Brutalist? so that didn't matter too much but still
oh NO I forgot to bring a jacket it's going to be SO cold in the movie theatre
why do they make it so cold in there
oh hey the Phoenician Scheme is out
I don't actually know what Sinners is about
okay that was a really good movie
the music is great
I don't actually know what consists of spoilers. I'm guessing the trailer is pretty clear that it's a musical movie with vampires? I think there were bits of vampire CGI that looked super goofy, esp as a period movie of sorts
interesting choice of ending
I don't really get deciding to keep Stack and Mary alive still
or undead I guess
really good music tho. even the Irish vampire jig was good
which is also another interesting thing bc the vampires had music too
like the Klanspeople's silly ditty was played for comedy but that jig went all in just like all the other songs
ohhh Michael B. Jordan played Smoke AND Stack
after they lost their red blue colour coding I couldn't tell them apart. that was because they are the same person
I haven't seen a vampire movie in ages and it's pretty neat that they kept the basic elements of garlic/holy water/wooden stake/silver
it's not really about vampires tho. they just happen to be there
good movie
idr if I already said that but I can say it again
having seen Moon recently, somehow it's not as astonishing to me that Michael B. Jordan also played both Smoke and Stack despite having far more physical duo interaction than in Moon
I'd probably have to watch it a second time to pay attention to how much they both appear on screen together. the fight scene was a lot of tussling but we do only see one of them at a time
oh they used a 360° motion capture and then machine learning mapped his face onto the body double. see that's less interesting
everyone was so up in arms about AI adjusting Adrien Brody's Hungarian accent but no one bats an eye about deepfake Michael A Jordan
@ionchy I went into it totally blind and was very pleasantly surprised!
