Wish I could be at the protests.. 🇺🇸

Instead I am digitally here for you, always 💪 ❤️

I think people should protest, but you may want to be careful what is on your phone. As you may recall, I work for Meta. We're currently spying on people.

We are helping the government to identify people who were in the protest. We are currently helping identify people who want to protest. We are currently helping government agents know where and when protest may happen.

If you have any Facebook apps - Facebook Messenger, Facebook, WhatsApp, Threads, Instagram -- Uninstall the app.

My phone won't let me uninstall it, only disable it. Is that good enough?

If it’s Android, it’s convoluted: enable developer tools, then there enable USB debugging, then plug to laptop via USB, and use adb shell to find apps that match facebook|meta|whatsapp|microsoft and then delete them. It’s not hard but it’s also easy to mess up.

You could try disabling them first, test for some time if everything works ok, no random crashes or message errors etc, then it's *probably* safe to remove with the adb method.

Another way is blocking specific domains with apps such as personalDNSfilter and the like.
