Less than ten years ago, even the *idea* of a major newspaper paywalling its content was shocking--even a bit scandalous.
@jimsalter if you turn off JavaScript execution, most of the ways it uses to track you fall over, and you only lose a tiny bit of functionality
@spineless_echidna you'll notice I said nothing about my inability to bypass a paywall. That's not really the issue at hand. That said, thanks for thinking of me (and maybe don't offer paywall bypass techniques right out in the open, where the paywallers can easily read what techniques are currently popular).
@jimsalter yes, I see your point, though I’m talking about the tracking and downloading of crazy amounts of data onto your device, not bypassing paywalls.
