Robert@brayd Briar has a desktop app as well, and they have something called Briar Mailbox to get around the serverless architecture issue, it's a self hostable server you can use to catch messages meant for you while you're offline and it forwards it to you once you get back online, can be used to send messages that will go through when back online too
