Step 1. Turn peaceful protests violent with masked ICE thugs attacking the protesters.
Step 2. Call in the National Guard to escalate the violence by being violent with the peaceful protesters.
Step 3. Activate the Marines causing more violence, blaming the protesters and giving Marines orders to shoot and kill protesters, spurring nationwide protests.
Step 4. Declare nationwide martial law, suspending Congress and courts, cancelling all future elections.
Far fetched? Nope.

@Wileymiller Yeah, protests are necessary but not sufficient when your adversary doesn't care what you think and wants escalation.
Mass protests should be a signal that mass direct action is on the table, and the nuclear option of a general strike and mass non-cooperation. If protest is the last resort, it ends there.
