@Sci_Fi_FanGirl haven't looked into masto for months.
Now I see your new public profile pic: wow, how great a bold move, both the radically different, fresh looking haircut (I only read about it on your blog and didn't imagine it to be such a fit) and leaving anonymity quite a bit. You really don't have to hide 🀩

@herrmannpierre Thank you so much πŸ™

I have gotten so much positive feedback on my haircut, it's really a boost in self-confidence.

Some colleagues said the other day that they somehow forgot what I looked like before, because the new haircut is so much more "me" ☺️

@Sci_Fi_FanGirl it really fits. You had a kind of handmaids tale type of haircut, although nothing was in itself wrong with it, only it expressed shyness, both physically in parts hiding your face and hiding behind a stereotype way of looking female, so to not be too exponated.

Now it's kind of "Look me in the face, here I am! Boom"

@Sci_Fi_FanGirl and to add that: your eyes and mimic express way more selfesteem than what I saw in this one old picture.
which might although be due to a momentary mood now and than of course but I guess it's an intrinsic thing, too.
@herrmannpierre It's true: I was hiding way more. And bit by bit, I feel I'm coming closer to be my authentic self.

@Sci_Fi_FanGirl
this time I did use the built-in button, but it's way too little expressive, so have to use my own words again (not that I'd mind that any way ^^)

Some or even most people may not think priorities in this order, but I do very strongly:
1st and foremost become and be the person you really are and want to be, follow your intrinsic pulls
2nd when you've accomplished that then use your vast capabilities to serve significant others, society and the world as a whole in a useful way.>

@Sci_Fi_FanGirl
I guess putting civil duties (and we're not talking about following law and not harming others, that's the speaks-for-itself part) over personal developement, even if it's for career reasons, is old school and misses lots of human potential.

Like you often stated how much effort and time is consumed by masking, evaluation of performance and readaption against your natural drive. how much more productive, creative and so on could you be, simply by being happy as you are?

@herrmannpierre Yes, so much wasted potential πŸ˜“

@Sci_Fi_FanGirl at least, when you think about it, you can begin to change it.
I have to praise you like I should
