The recently abraded rock had substantial coating underneath the dust, but the gas Dust Removal Tool (gDRT) blew the dust away and now it is fully visible. The image was captured in the shadow of #Perseverance's turret.

Wouldn't it be grand if the next Mars rover had a helicopter sidekick fitted with a powerful leaf-blower attachment that could remove all the dust from the rover's planned path. I wonder how many additional targets could be spotted without the dust 😀
