Another morning in the office. Another medialuna pastry and a long black in my keep cup.

Thinking back to my "Tradie" days, it would be a pie, two ham sandwiches, a bowl of chips and a large flat white.
And that would just be on the way to the job. ( Out of town jobs required more sustenance and planning if going country:)

Good thing retirement came along.

@BigD No doubt countered by all the physical activity and steps you'd be doing each day. I always think of tradies being super fit. Office work is so sedentary! Luckily I have a bit of walk to/from the train station each time I come into the office. When I was my pre-retirement career days and had a car and carpark in our building, I hardly moved at all most days. Now that was unhealthy!
@paulhellyer Was in the days of swinging a hammer, no gas assistance nailing. Tradies are usually still as active I would think so energy levels required need plenty of fortification fodder.
I used to comment on how much we'd spend on smoko. I would think bakeries and petrol stations cash flows would follow building activity trends.
Similar to office workers really affecting cafes in a city.

My ex and her friend set up a little company called 'Smoko Chicks' in 90s Queenstown. They only serviced two large building sites (one each) every morning tea with sandwiches, bacon & egg rolls and the odd special order.

It was never much of a money-maker but on-site food certainly kept the tradies happy.
