I had a stupid idea;

CD players... what if they made the drive which spins the CD lighter than an actual CD? then they could spin that and leave the CD stationary, which would be more efficient on power

I think this could change the world

@naima Tricky because of the speed and the movable laser. I have a vision of it working on vinyl though.
@naima You know how CT machines have that big ring of equipment that spins around the patient? I'm sure the patient is way lighter than the equipment so let's spin grandma instead.

@naima let me think about that. you'd perhaps clip the CD into something to hold it still and then the CD drive would, like, clip onto the disc and spin in place? ~Chara
@naima and what if they made speaker diaphragms out of lead so the diaphragm stays still and the rest of the speaker goes in and out?
