The ratio of USB C to A ports on motherboards should at least be 6:4, but what I'm seeing is more like 1:9.

Also, how are we not ditching USB 2.0 only ports yet? We ditched 1.1 a long time ago and even those born when 3.0 (aka 3.2/3.1 gen1 USB 5Gbps) came out are now late-teens.

@takaharu 1.1 vs 2.0 is the same number of pins and is basically just a color difference, otoh 3.0 adds some complexity because it has a lot more pins to route and the ports themselves increase the BOM cost slightly.

that and they might need to add a 3.0 hub chip for some of the ports at that point, when you could instead have some ports be 2.0 for your keyboards and whatnot

also some devices are cursed/noncompliant and act weird in 3.0 ports

@takaharu What astounds me is when devices still use Micro-USB. Why isn't it all USB C at this point?
